Work rights and after graduation
No student-specific automatic work right was found. Under the Law of Ukraine 'On Employment of the Population' (Art. 42) employers need a work permit for foreigners; Art. 42-1(6) names, as a permit category, foreigners who arrived to study at higher education institutions and intend to work during and after study, provided they are employed no later than 30 calendar days before study ends. The employer applies (Art. 42-2(9) requires the university's enrolment order, the university's written consent to the student's employment and a copy of the temporary residence permit). Permit fee is paid by the employer: 3 / 5 / 8 / 10 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons for validity up to 6 months / up to 1 year / up to 2 years / up to 3 years (Art. 42-4). Decision within 7 working days of registering the application (Art. 42-6). No weekly hour cap for students was found in the text.
