The Union of the Comoros has one public university, the University of the Comoros (Université des Comores, UDC), created by ordinance no. 03-006/PR of 8 September 2003. It reports over 13,000 enrolled students (2023/2024), nine components on six campuses across the three islands (Ngazidja, Ndzuani, Mwali), and uses the LMD system (licence, master, doctorate). Its official programme list is in French.
UDC's admission page states that pre-registration and registration are online (admission.univ-comores.com), with a pre-registration fee of 25,000 KMF paid via HOLO. Foreign candidates must provide a valid residence certificate (attestation de séjour) covering the academic year. Tuition for international students, intake dates and language-test requirements were not found on official pages.
UK, Canadian and German official advice (26 Oct 2026) does not issue an avoid-travel warning for Comoros: the UK page carries no specific warning, Canada says exercise a high degree of caution, Germany issues general safety advice and the US lists Level 2 (excerpt dated 12 Jan 2026). They note limited emergency and medical services, risks from road conditions, swimming, shortages and piracy, and that same-sex acts are illegal. A visa is required for tourist, business and student travel according to Canada, with a tourist visa available on arrival at Moroni airport; no official Comorian source on student visas or residence permits was found.
Visa, residence-permit, work-right, post-study and cost information is therefore null in this record rather than filled from non-official guides. Confirm all requirements with the university and a Comorian embassy or consulate.
