SQU postgraduate: IELTS Academic or TOEFL iBT certificate required for all applicants (English required even when instruction is in Arabic); the 2026/27 announcement allows conditional submission at IELTS 5.5 / TOEFL 69 for English-taught master's; SQU MSc Petroleum Geosciences page: TOEFL 550 or IELTS 6.0. UTAS postgraduate (English-taught): IELTS 6.0 in all skills, valid 6 months. Sohar University: English component of the foundation programme can be exempted with IELTS 5.0 (no skill below 4.5), TOEFL iBT 58 / PBT 500 or 61/100 in the Sohar placement test. Middle East College: foundation English exempt at IELTS 5.5. GUtech (search snippet): IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 76, Duolingo 105, Aptis Advanced 160 or Linguaskill 170; exempt for IB/GCE graduates.Source

SQU postgraduate: studies begin in September (and a January spring semester per the Petroleum Geosciences page); application window for 2027/28 Fall postgraduate programmes 15 October 2026 - 14 January 2027 on the SQU enrolment portal (2026/27 window was 1 December 2025 - 1 February 2026).
