Language requirements and intakes

Language requirement
Public higher education is mainly in French (AMCI); non-francophone AMCI scholars take a one-year French upgrade at the AMCI International Language Centre in Rabat, which also offers Darija courses. Arabic is used in some programmes. English-medium options exist mainly at Al Akhawayn University (all degree programmes in English with required French/Arabic coursework) and some UM6P programmes.Source
Intakes and deadlines
Public universities run on a single academic year; pre-registration platforms were open for 2026-27 (UH2C preins.univh2c.ma; one UCA faculty deadline 4 September 2026 per search snippet). Al Akhawayn runs Fall and Spring semesters. UM6P engineering-cycle application deadlines for the 2026 intake were April-June 2026 (search snippet); 2027 dates not found. Cooperation-student deadlines are set yearly by AMCI and sent to Moroccan diplomatic missions and accredited embassies.Source

Language and exam preparation

What to watch for in Language and intakes

  • Verify the language tests and minimum scores your target programme accepts.
  • Plan the validity of the result around your application and visa dates.
  • A programme taught in the local language may need a separate language-proficiency timeline.
