English-taught programmes usually require a result such as IELTS Academic or TOEFL iBT; the minimum score varies by country, university and programme. Local-language requirements may also apply, for example DSH or TestDaF for German-taught programmes in Germany. Some universities accept alternatives such as the Duolingo English Test while others accept only specific tests.
