# **PTE Academic**

Pearson Test of English Academic — a computer-based English test with fast results.

## Overview

Applicants to universities and visa routes that accept PTE Academic. Confirm acceptance before registering.

**Acceptance:** Accepted by many institutions; not every university or visa route accepts it. Verify before booking.

## Format and scoring

**Speaking & Writing**

Integrated tasks such as reading aloud, repeating sentences and summarising.

**Reading**

Multiple task types including re-ordering paragraphs and fill-in-the-blanks.

**Listening**

Audio and video recordings with different task types.

### Scoring

Reported on a 10–90 scale with scores for communicative skills and enabling skills; scoring is automated.

## Preparation

- Practise the unique task types (such as Repeat Sentence and Re-order Paragraphs).
- Speak clearly into a microphone; practise pronunciation and fluency.
- Take Pearson's practice tests to learn timing.

## Test day

- Bring accepted ID.
- Expect a secure check-in with palm vein or photo and signature steps depending on the centre.
